About Me

Hello! Welcome to ImAprilE.com - "a little of this... a little of that"

I live in North Carolina with my husband and best friend of 15+ years and our 3 furry kids: Murphy (Chocolate Lab), Harley (Pit Bull), and Nugget (Munchkin Cat). I don't have any non-furry kids, yet, but hopefully soon! But for now my fur babies take up a LOT of my time & energy and I wouldn't have it any other way.

I work as an office manager & event planner & I love it. In my spare time, which these days there's not enough of, I'm a philanthropist. I serve on my local Red Cross' Board of Directors where I spread the message & mission of the Red Cross. I truly am grateful to have been given the opportunity to give back to my community and I do my very best to ensure that the Red Cross' message is heard. I also serve on a number of sub-committees that keep me very busy. I am inspired each and every day by the work of the Red Cross and am honored to be able to share my voice as well.

I'm an avid animal lover. I mean, really... my furry kids have their own page on my blog! And a special link on my sidebar, and their own background, etc. I guess you could say I really love them! I have a Pit Bull & I make no apologies for it. I am a huge Pit Bull advocate and will defend the breed until the day I die. The old adage, "No bad dogs, just bad owners!" . So VERY true. Especially for this breed. They are truly this country's most misunderstood breed and I commend all those who feel & share the same mentality that I do. Check out The Positive Pit Bull for more insightful, very important information regarding the breed and how one person's life mission is to change the perception of the breed for the better, forever.

I'm borderline O.C.D. Well, maybe alot, but that's OK. It's me. I am extremely easy going, but scarily uptight all at the same time. Trust me, it's possible. I'm full of spirit and some will say I'm overly gregarious. (Look it up - I didn't know what it meant at first either!) I am a simple woman and don't need much. Just my husband, pets, comfy pj's & slippers, and a great movie with a giant tub of popcorn. I get a thrill shuffling through sale racks and absolutely get giddy when I save money. Oh, I also love all sweets. Like, ALL sweets.

I have taken a liking lately do all things DIY and am trying to become more crafty. Thanks, Pinterest!

Life can be crazy... but that's the purpose of my blog - To share my thoughts, dreams, and all things cool. It's completely random and completely ME. I hope you dig it.

I try to update as much as I can - Stay tuned in!

When I first started this blog my husband wondered why and who for. Well, I told him it was for me and whoever cares to share in my journey. He asked how people find my little corner of the blogosphere and I shrug my shoulders because I didn't really know how to answer him. (Hello... where are you?) And then he decided to do a little "advertising" for me... Check it out! I couldn't stop laughing after he did this so I HAD to share! LOL!

  1. April,

I came across your blog through the wordpress forums while searching for ways to add a social media icon bar to my blog. I just had to thank you for sharing your code and for giving super easy to understand instructions. I spent all day yesterday trying to do this, trying different plugins etc..and nothing was working. All for a few custom icons!

So I just wanted to let you know how much you helped. I haven't tried it yet, but the steps are so easy I just know it will work!

    Kind Regards,

    Bria (soon to be www.witandpolish.com)
